Intensive Outpatient Program
What is our Intensive Outpatient Program?
Therapy in the City's Intensive Outpatient Program is an individualized, intensive, treatment program for individuals who are looking for a level of care beyond weekly therapy, and are seeking an immersive, goal-oriented therapy to create change in the here-and-now.
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is geared towards clients are seeking a higher level of care and are struggling with heightened levels of:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Eating Disorders
- OCD
- Emotion Dysregulation
- Panic/Agoraphobia
- Performance (School/Work Related Distress)

Weekly intensive program schedules consist of meeting with a team of clinicians 2-5 days per week, for 90-180 minutes sessions, depending on clients’ needs. Treatment is geared towards skill building, phone coaching, and interventions that help clients get back to engaging fully in everyday living, and achieving therapy related goals.
Program Structure
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP's) range from 2-5 days/week for 1-3 weeks, depending on length and frequency of sessions.
Upon intake evaluation, our Intensive Outpatient Program Clinical Coordinator meets with the designated IOP team to build your treatment program. IOP programs are most commonly conducted by a treatment team of 1-2 clinicians, with the option of adding an additional consultation session with the Clinical Coordinator. IOP's occur on an individualized basis, meaning you will meet with your clinicians one on one for the duration of the program. IOP participants are invited to join our DBT groups either in-person or virtually, as an additional component of treatment within their program.
Treatment modalities include: CBT, DBT, skills generalization, phone coaching, behavioral activation, and exposure/response prevention therapy. An administrative patient care coordinator is assigned to each IOP participant, who navigates scheduling/sessions and all administrative related questions for the duration of the program.
