Aliza Shapiro, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Therapy In The City, a multistate mental health practice with offices across NY, FL, and CA. In her clinical work, Aliza supports adults, young adults, and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, and related disorders. Her clinical approach is firmly rooted in evidence based practice, with an emphasis on insight, skill building, and sustainable change. With over a decade of experience leading and training clinicians, Aliza is recognized for translating research driven models into practical, real world therapeutic work that supports both client progress and clinician excellence.
Aliza obtained her Master’s degree from the Silberman School of Social Work, specializing in Health & Mental Health with a concentration in neurobiology and the treatment of depression. She subsequently completed comprehensive trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention. In her current work, Aliza integrates evidence-based models with principles of spirituality, values alignment, and success, helping clients apply clinical insight not only to symptom reduction, but to the broader architecture of their lives.
Beyond her clinical work, Aliza studied Leadership and Management at The Wharton School of Business. Before founding her practice, she served as Vice President of People & Culture, where she oversaw clinical programming, business development, and organizational growth initiatives.
