Minaa B., LMSW, is a devoted therapist serving young adults, adults, and families. She supports clients struggling with an array of complex mental health issues including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and personality disorders. In addition, Minaa specializes in treating family related challenges including strained sibling relationships and parent-child dynamics. She also supports individuals navigating life challenges, burnout, career transitions, immigration and first-gen stressors, racial trauma and systemic inequities, and complex relationship and friendship dynamics.

As a writer, author, and entrepreneur, Minaa also has expertise working with clients in high-profile careers, including writers, producers, and professionals in the entertainment and creative industries. She also specializes in working with executives, solopreneurs, and individuals in high-performing, fast-paced fields.

Minaa’s therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, holistic, and eclectic. She uses evidence-based modalities, including psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and tailors her approach to meet the individualized needs of her clients. Her style is warm, direct, and collaborative, as she strives to help her clients develop the tools they need to achieve their goals.

Prior to working in private practice, Minaa worked in community mental health, serving children, families, and individuals navigating complex mental health issues and environmental and systemic challenges. She also served as a mental health consultant in Early Head Start, a NYC-based, federally funded program that provides low-income and marginalized families with free childcare and educational resources for children ages zero to five. 

Minaa earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management from Briarcliffe College and her Master’s in Social Work from New York University. Minaa is the author of the books Owning Our Struggles and Siblinghood, and she is passionate about helping people heal, navigate life stressors, and build resilience and self-efficacy.
