Our services & Specializations:
Therapy In The City offers an array of therapy services including standard individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and intensive outpatient services.
Individual Therapy
Weekly sessions for adults, adolescents and children. Goal-oriented and structured, with a clear sense of what you’re working toward and how you’ll know it’s working.
Couples & Family Therapy
Support across dating, marriage, long-term partnership, separation and divorce — including communication, trust, intimacy and decision-making.
Intensive Outpatient Therapy
A structured, immersive program for adults, adolescents and children who need more than weekly therapy. Individually designed rather than one-size-fits-all.
Evidence-based, and specific about it
Every clinician on our team has advanced training in established, well-researched treatment modalities. That means your care follows a method with a track record, not whatever the therapist happens to prefer.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT and Exposure Therapy to help reduce anxiety and depression. For those who need help creating change, now.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Practical skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress and strengthening relationships.

what people are saying
"Aliza was beyond extraordinary. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her area of expertise and is someone who has done and does the work. She has a way of always asking the right questions to help me see the areas in my life I was avoiding. She helped me face them head on and supported me along the way. She was understanding, honest, kind, real, and comforting. If there is anyone I know and or love that is looking for some help, I send them to Aliza every time. I can't thank her enough for the impact she had on me and my life. I will forever be grateful."
what people are saying
"I can't say enough positive things about Nikki and how much she's helped me in the short time I've been seeing her. I've been a client of hers for a little over a year and in that time she's helped me overcome several challenges, including tackling a difficult, but necessary move, advocating for myself at work and setting boundaries in my personal relationships. I tried several therapists before Nikki, but no one has helped me as much as she has. She was quick to get me in for my first appointment, has been kind and patient with me and has been a wonderful, supportive presence in my life. I wouldn't be where I am today without her!"
what people are saying
"Janna is an exceptional therapist. She knows exactly how to make you feel comfortable and secure right from the get-go. It feels seamlessly easy to open up to her and build a trusting relationship with her. She has helped me improve so much as a friend, family member, and coworker, and I look forward to continuing to work with her for hopefully a long time to come."
what people are saying
"Aliza helped me win back parts of my life that I had temporarily lost to anxiety and panic attacks. Real change is rarely easy. It typically requires patience, compassion, determination, and vulnerability. Aliza provided me with the framework for real change, and guided me throughout the journey. It has been my great fortune to have been able to work together."
what people are saying
"Marcy is a phenomenal practitioner. She is completely non-judgmental. She holds space in a way that is simultaneously comforting and lovingly challenging. Every time I talk to Marcy, I emerge feeling more like myself and happier with who that self is. Since working with Marcy, I have noticed my anxiety is significantly decreased and my general sense of stability has increased. I feel more connected to my joy and better able to cope with the inevitable difficult moments in life. Thank you, Marcy, for your unwavering support!"
what people are saying
"Aliza helped me embrace my own humanity. She creates a safe space to feel your feelings, big or small. Her use of dialectics is wildly empowering. Working with her has allowed me to grow and heal exponentially as a person. She has helped me in all areas of my life. I am a better leader, romantic partner, business owner, daughter, sister because of the work we’ve done together. I recommend her to everyone I know."
what people are saying
"We have had a really difficult time finding a therapist for my teenage daughter, and I am so glad that we finally found Therapy In The City. My daughter is extremely shy and has a hard time opening up with anyone, the idea of therapy was definitely overwhelming for her. I can see the positive impact therapy has had on my daughter, she is able to articulate and navigate her emotions and this has positively impacted our family and her relationships."

Can I do some sessions virtually and some in person?
Yes. Many of our New York clients follow a hybrid model, meeting virtually most weeks and coming into the Midtown office when it suits them.
Do you work with children and teenagers?
Yes. Several of our clinicians specialize in adolescents and children, including school refusal, social anxiety and family dynamics.
How quickly can I be seen?
We respond to all inquiries within 24 business hours and will give you a realistic timeline on the consult call.
What's the difference between weekly therapy and your IOP?
Weekly therapy is one session per week. Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured, higher-frequency program for people who need more support than weekly sessions provide. The consult call is the right place to work out which fits.
